Julia Hahnl is a Japanese-Austrian designer, artist, and computer scientist based in Vienna. With a background in computer science and industrial design, her practice navigates the intersections of technology and art.
Through installations, interactive works, and text-based explorations, Julia investigates how technological systems shape, influence, and are entangled with political, environmental, and cultural dynamics - both in present and futures.
Driven by critical research and hands-on experimentation, she works with electronics, coding, and technical tools to create spaces for questioning, rethinking, and reimagining the systems and structures that shapes everyday life.
